A few of you may remember from my tweets back in November that my sister and brother-in-law had to cancel their wedding on the day of their rehearsal due to the tragedy in Fort Hood. They spent 3 years separated due to his service in the army (two served in Korea and 1 year in Iraq after being stop-lossed). But finally after many obstacles, they were able to see their dream wedding come true this past weekend.
It was a beautiful wedding and a fabulous weekend!
I want to thank specifically the vendors who were so gracious in how they handled the last minute cancellation of original date.
Blake, of Upstate Mobile DJ’s, was probably by far the most incredible and entertaining DJ I have ever seen. He had so many original games and activities that I have never seen done before. And not only was he incredbibly entertaining, he was also very generous. He had all wedding guests honor my brother-in-law’s service to our country with a standing ovation and he donated his entire DJ services for their wedding in honor of Scott’s service. Blake, you are top notch!
Also, the most amazing florist ever, is Kristi at Dahlia. Kristi handled my wedding as well as my sister’s. She is unbelievably talented, creative, and unique. I always love the whimsical touch she adds to everything. The way she and her staff reacted to the last minute cancellation in November is beyond words. Each of her staff donated the hours they had worked on the flowers for the November wedding, so that my sister’s investment would be transferred over to the new date in February. Kristi also went to all the wholesalers and told them what happened and they also donated flowers for the new wedding. But not only did she do all of that, on the original wedding date, November 7th, Kristi sent my sister a beautiful bouquet of flowers, so that she would be able to have something beautiful on what would have been her wedding day.
THEN, Susan at Couture Cakes of Greenville, gave them the groom’s cake for free.
ALL of the vendors kept her original investment and worked with her on rescheduling the date:
Kismet Photographers were superb! Their pictures are amazing. They even befriended the entire wedding party on Facebook, so that they could tag us in the wedding photos.
Paul Sturcken of InPro Video (who was my videographer as well) is by far the most amazing videographer ever. I love his heart for wedding videography. He is so professional, courteous, respectful, and the final product is fantastic!
The Chapel at the Cliffs of Glassy, is the most amazing and beautiful place you could ever hope to get married. I was so excited to be able to marry Ken there. And I am so grateful that Jamie was able to hold her ceremony there as well.
Everyone was amazing to my sister and Scott and made their long awaited day so special. Thank you all!!!
We had so much to be grateful for this weekend! Here are just a few pictures from the day (but if you find me on Facebook, you can see all of Kismet’s photos as well).

Looks like a fabulous time! Tearing up a little…
Great indorsments for the vendors. I love it when business people care about realtionships instead of just the bottom line! I know people are in business to make a living but it’s so great when you see them takin’ care of their neighbors at the same time.
Congratulations to Scott and Jamie!
wow. so many miracles lining her beautiful day! God’s hand is all over it!
