So, I’ve been quiet lately. Very. Quiet. Honestly, until yesterday, I’ve really had no words at all. I am hopeful my body is finally adjusting to no coffee, but the jury is still out.
I am neck deep in a time of renewal, restoration, and discovery. I am seeking and listening. I am wrestling and hopefully surrendering…
But, I miss talking to you all and I am so grateful for the friendships I’ve formed. You all rock!
I saw something fun at Entertainment Weekly’s website (which, by the way, I never look at…but the title caught my eye and piqued my curiosity). They referenced (which I have heard before) Ernest Hemingway taking on a challenge to write his memoir in 6 words. His were: “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” Says a lot, doesn’t it.
My sweet friend, Alece at Grit and Glory, often plays games on her blog. And I love those days. So today, we are going to play a game here too. I can’t wait to read all of your answers. Play as many times as you like.
If you had to sum up your life to this point in 6 words, what would they be? Or you could also play it as what you would like those 6 words to be at the end of your life.
Seeing as how on am on a journey of discovery, here are my words:
Peeling the layers of the onion.
Now, it’s your turn.
Go.

So glad to see your post today. I was missing you! I have been praying that God will show you wonderful things.
Love the challenge today. Here’s mine (not a big shocker!):
Discovering God’s purpose for my life.
p.s. Praising God for more victory this week! Thanks again for your prayers. Felt led to share my struggle with another friend, and God has brought more healing as a result.
Lisa, I am so glad to hear that you are experiencing victory! I will continue to pray for you and I appreciate your prayers as well. Been a tough couple of weeks and I have needed every single one. Love your 6 words!
love. heartbreak. joy. pain. unpredictably wonderful.
Maureen, I love it and I relate so much!
Enjoying My Kids While I Can.
Warren, that’s a great one!
I don’t know if this is good or bad but my first thought regarding six words to describe my life was:
Somehow, the kid is still standing.
Jason, I think I might relate to that one just a little bit!
Jesus loves me, this I know!
Oh, Leah! I love that one!
Something I have to remind my control-freakish self several times a day:
The universe is not my responsibility!
(That job is already taken by One immeasurably more qualified!)
Cindy, you made me crack up laughing. It’s so true! I love yours!
By His wounds, I am healed
Joe, yours gave me chills. So much said in so few words.
Letting go, Letting God, faith’s reward.
Annie, that is a great one and it is so hard for me. God and I are involved in a lengthy dialog about this one currently.
This was hard to come up with! I had so many thoughts, but here’s what I’m thinking for right now:
Working all things out for good.
bahava (is it Katie?)…They are hard to come up with aren’t they! I have a couple more that I think I will post. Keep ‘em coming. I love everyone’s responses so far. Yours is SO good. I cling to that promise daily! Love it! By the way, what does bahava mean?
Here’s a couple others I thought of:
Was lost, but now I’m found.
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound.
Anyone have any other poignant, inspirational or even some funny ones? Keep ‘em coming. This has been fun!
Hey Chrystie, thanks for commenting on my SCL post today! It’s always good to meet other bloggers. I’m too tired right now to try to sum up my life in six words, unfortunately.
Oh well, hope to see you around again soon!
The road less traveled……………
To God be the Glory (only 5, but that is what I thought of).
Chrystie -still waiting to hear from you on some books.
Nancy in NC
Nancy, those books have been riding around with me in my car for months waiting for me to take them by a post office. Please forgive me for being so slow in getting them to you.
Mind if I use this idea on my blog? I’ll link back to your blog. It’s a great challenge.
Hey, Lisa! Go right ahead. I borrowed from someone else as well.
Here are a few more…
Optimism heals a doubter’s tattered heart.
Forgiveness builds a bridge of love.
Make each day interesting, challenging, rewarding.
On my knees no matter what.
Michele, I love that one!!!! And, boy do I relate!
grit and glory, but mostly grit.
