Book Review – Let Go By Sheila Walsh

Posted on Jan 17, 2010 in Articles

Sometimes a book finds its way to us at exactly the right moment and in the exact set of circumstances that prepares our heart and mind to receive its message. Recently, as a Thomas Nelson Book Review Blogger (now known as Book Sneeze), I received the book, Let Go by Sheila Walsh for review.

The day I requested the book, I do not remember feeling overly compelled that it was a book that I simply must read. I had never read anything by Sheila Walsh before, but I found the book intriguing enough to request a copy to review on my blog.

The morning it arrived was a particularly tough morning. As I sat down on the couch and began reading the back cover and then the inside flap, it almost took my breath away. I needed to be reminded of the truths she so eloquently poured out on each page. It was exactly what I needed to hear and at the precise moment I needed to hear it.

Sheila beckons the reader to find the freedom in Christ that is afforded us when we let go and trust our lives to Him. As she tackles tough subjects like depression, forgiveness, temptation, and shame she leads the reader to the foot of the cross where they will find everything they need to find peace, rest, joy, forgiveness, unconditional love and abundant grace.

What is evident in this book in every chapter, every word, is a woman who has had a deep and intimate personal experience with her Savior and has a deep desire to share it with others. Her heart, her transparency, and her passion moved me.

This is an excellent book for any woman who struggles with not feeling good enough, not feeling worthy. I loved it!

    Sounds like a great book!

How are you coming with Roaring Lions?

Hey, Warren! I just started Roaring Lions. A little slow getting started. But, I am really enjoying it. I jumped right into the section on Accepting God’s Will. I like how it is broken out, so you can jump around topically. How are book sales going?

I agree with your sentiments. I just finished my first Sheila Walsh book, The Heartache No One Sees, and felt it was really worthwhile. Thanks for the recommendation!
